THE FITTING OUT OF CARLTON - FIXING THE INTERIOR CLADDING

THE CEILING AND WALL INTERIOR CLADDING BEING FIXED

Carlton was delivered as a bare hull but already primed and the bottom blacked, the fitting out has now moved on to where the majority of the interior cladding is being fixed.

You will see that a pale green section of cladding has already  been placed ready for the bathroom to be built.
If you look closely you will see masking tape on the floor already indicating the position of the bulkhead and various bathroom fittings to follow.
If you want a smooth narrowboat fit-out preparation is everything.
Most of this is second nature to the "professionals", but if you are reading these pages as a potential "amateur", look very thoroughly to you preparation before you start.
At the rear of the boat the cladding has to be sawn, as shown, to allow for the changing shape of the hull.

The main cladding of the interior of the boat is now complete, capping of joints, cable runs and pipe work will be completed later, after further fitting out has been completed.

This shows the upper cladding sheets being of sufficient depth to conceal the electrical wiring positioned underneath the gunnels.

This will eventually be capped after all wiring has been completed.
